American Corner Ilam

Introduction

                  What…? American Corner Ilam is a joint venture of American Embassy Kathmandu and Ilam Chambers of Commerce & Industry. It has been established on 1st November 2011 (2068 Kartik 15 B.S). Since its establishment, it has been providing various services to the students, academicians, traders, industrialists and to the people at large of this city and nearby regions. Now, it has been recognized as an academic platform to promote reading culture and best use of time for the inter-cultural exchange of ideas.

Objectives

                    The objective behind the endeavor is to provide provide  library  facilities and free information to the  students, access to Nepalese people and others about American history, culture , music, education, literature & American ways of life and complimentary access to the Internet. 

 

Services

 Photocopying  and Printing Services:

• The library offers a limited photocopying and printing  service for academic or research purposes at the rate of Rs. 2 per page from printed material and Rs. 5 per page from CD-ROMs and online databases.

 Internet Access Service:

• Computers with access to the Internet are provided to library patrons on payment basis for research purpose only.

Reference Service:

• The library maintains a reference collection of more than 1000 books and has a full-time reference librarian to answer your queries.
